- In June 2023, a donation of $500 CAD was sent to Alaweeah, intended to support her business by purchasing essential equipment and materials. Additionally, a monthly allowance of $100 CAD for three months was committed. The news of this assistance brought immense joy to Alaweea, who is deeply respected within her community. Her community members rallied to help transport the items purchased with Waseela’s donation to her home. The donation was used to acquire crucial items, including an oven, propane tank, and baking tools and materials, all of which play a vital role in sustaining Alaweeah’s sole source of income.
- In July 2023, the second monthly donation of $100 CAD was provided to Alaweeah, enabling her to continue her pastry-making business, which serves as her family’s primary financial support during the challenging economic period in Yemen. Alaweeah’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident as she expanded her services to include setting up a street stand and fulfilling private orders for events. Part of the second donation was earmarked for the purchase of a blender, further enhancing her business capabilities.
