The Meaning of Waseela

Waseela (وسيلة) in Arabic is used in everyday language to indicate any means or channel through which something is accomplished or achieved. At Waseela Relief Association, we embody this concept as a catalyst for positive change. Waseela, to us, is the vital connection that bridges compassion to action. We understand that it’s not just about providing a temporary fix but creating sustainable change.
Personalized Family-led Support
No two families are the same — and neither is the support we offer. Each family leads their own journey. We listen to their needs, aspirations, and challenges, then work with them to co-create a tailored support package that reflects their goals.
Our integrated approach includes:
Start-up funds for income-generating projects proposed by the beneficiary.
Monthly allowances to cover urgent needs while the project gains stability.
Immediate relief in times of crisis.
Access to skills training when needed.
Ongoing follow-up even after formal support ends — to check in, offer additional support if needed, and celebrate progress.
We also offer scholarships and bursaries to students pursuing their education under difficult circumstances.
Whether supporting a livelihood project or access to education, our focus is always on creating lasting impact.
Waseela is entirely volunteer-led. This allows us to keep administrative costs low and ensure that more funds go directly to families in need. Our team is made up of people driven by a shared commitment to supporting Yemenis towards stable, dignified incomes and futures.
